Mission and activities

The Hungarian Society of Internal Medicine was founded in 1966. It is a voluntary association of members working in internal medicine and its related fields, coordinating and encouraging professional work and promoting national and international medical relations.

Mission

To develop internal medicine, to broaden the scientific knowledge and the ethical education of its members, and to represent and protect their professional and scientific interests.

Activities

• lectures, review meetings, symposia, regional and national congresses and international conferences;
• publishing journals (Magyar Belorvosi Archívum) and occasional publications;
• following educational issues of the specialty and supporting public health authorities with proposals;
• calls for grants, awards and medals; establishing foundations;
• regional organisations operating under the supervision of the Society.
